Can you install a lock I bought myself?
Usually, yes. Tell us the make and model when you call so we can check it suits your door, then we will fit it and make sure it latches properly.
Should I get a single- or double-cylinder deadbolt?
A single-cylinder deadbolt has a thumb turn inside and is the usual choice for homes. A double-cylinder needs a key on both sides, which can slow you down in an emergency, so we only suggest it for specific situations.
